About the acrylic printing service

Acrylic printing (perspex printing) is a relatively new method of reproducing you photographs. Acrylic prints provide a modern and stylish alternative to the ever popular canvas prints.

Acrylic printing equipment

Your photographs are reverse printed onto a 5mm thick clear acrylic sheet using UV fade and water resistant inks. This process is superior to the more common ‘sandwiching’ methods as offered by other companies where a photo is printed onto paper and then sealed to the back of the acrylic. These methods lead to problems with adhesive failure and prints peeling off the acrylic.

White is not printed on the acrylic prints from ESJ Designs. This give the image transparency in areas of white and light colours are also printed slightly translucent. When hung against a white or magnolia wall, the light colour of the wall replaces the white in the image and adds depth to the image. Lighter images are more suited for acrylic printing than heavily saturated and dark images.

Presentation and finish of acrylic photo prints

Each acrylic print is supplied with four stylish aluminium fixings that when screwed into a wall stands the acrylic print off the wall by 20mm – 25mm. The acrylic also has diamond polished edges for a prestigious feel.
Image guidelines.

Both digital images and hard copy photographs are suitable for acrylic printing. Hard copy photographs can be posted and ESJ Designs offer a free scanning service. Photographs will be returned. Digital photographs can be emailed. The simplest method is to email a full size JPEG, straight from the camera and ESJ Designs will size it correctly and email a proof back before proceeding with the acrylic photo print. Other file formats that are acceptable include tiff, .pdf, .psd, .ai, .eps. If images are set to actual size, the resolution needs to be a minimum of 200dpi.

Delivery of acrylic prints

ESJ Designs offer a free delivery service on all products. Acrylic prints are sent by Royal Mail Standard Parcel. This is a 3 – 5 day parcel service. Delivery is normally between 3 and 10 days from order. If you need an acrylic print quicker please contact as other delivery options are available at a small cost.
